We understand that Coronavirus is a worrying time for us all and while there continues to be an unprecedented level of disruption to daily life, we are working hard across the charity to ensure that we are there for our volunteers, staff and supporters. We want to say a big thank you to all our volunteers for sticking by us during this difficult time. We can appreciate that volunteering across the charity looks very different and we want to re-assure you that we are doing everything that we can to ensure that when you return to volunteer with us that you are happy and comfortable that we are looking after you when you are volunteering.
We realise that some of our volunteers may be shielding again and some of you may not feel comfortable returning to volunteering just yet, please do contact us if you would like to discuss this in more detail, we are here to support you and to answer any questions you may have.
We are always looking to extend the wonderful team of volunteers, so if you have a few hours a week to support Tŷ Hafan, do get in touch. We have many opportunities across the charity and when the restrictions allow, we will be re-introducing more of our volunteers back into our shops and departments. We want to say a big thank you to our volunteers for sticking by us during this difficult time. We appreciate that for many, activity has been at a standstill, but we’ll absolutely need you by our side more than ever once activity resumes and we’re back on track.
Our volunteer development manager, Debbie, will be in touch with you with any updates, but please get in touch in the meantime if you have any questions: Debbie.firstname.lastname@example.org
In the meantime, if you are feeling isolated or alone please visit https://www.nhs.uk/oneyou/every-mind-matters/coronavirus-covid-19-staying-at-home-tips/ where there are fantastic tips to help you through this difficult time. Stay safe and we hope to see you all very soon.
Tŷ Hafan has a wide range of volunteering roles across the charity, all requiring different levels of experience and commitment. We have volunteers who help for an hour or so every week to volunteers who help at a specific event.
Every hour of volunteering generates funds towards helping the Tŷ Hafan children and their families.
One off volunteering roles which support our events
Regular volunteering roles at our hospice, warehouse or in one of our shops
Volunteering roles to help with personal development or work experience
Corporate volunteering projects
An ambassador role to share our story and represent Tŷ Hafan in the community
Set up a fundraising event, host a dinner party or tea party in our name
Duke of Edinburgh (DOE) award or Welsh Baccalaureate
You don’t need any previous experience; we will be happy to train and induct you in your position. Of course, we would welcome anyone who has experience they can share with us too!
Send us an email at email@example.com
All volunteers will be asked to complete an application form and provide two references as part of the Safer Recruitment Process (certain roles may also require a DBS check to be undertaken which will be paid in full by Tŷ Hafan)
We simply couldn’t offer our range of services and activities without the support of our Team Tŷ Hafan volunteers.
