opening the door to new ways of fundraising

There's nothing quite like the excitement of having your very own home. But what if home for you wasn't the house in which you live but something else?
Where love resides, memories are created, and laughter never ends. A safe space, a place with people you trust who can provide the comfort, care and support you need.
For many children and their families across Wales, that place is Hafan.

Estate agents, Nuttall Parker have partnered with Hafan and will be donating £50 from every house they sell over the course of the next year. They hope to raise enough funds to pay for a full day of care at the hospice which is currently around £12,000.

Branch Manager Lesley Woodsford-Lloyd has worked for Nuttall Parker for the past 20 years and is based at their office in Newport.

Nuttall Parker was established in 1961 and remains independently owned with our office based in the heart of the city on Baneswell Road. We pride ourselves on our local expertise and experience which enables us to connect with the communities in which our clients work and live.’

Lesley and the team were inspired to support Hafan after hearing about the support we provide to families at the hospice and out in the community.

‘Ty Hafan provides amazing support for over 300 children with life-limiting conditions and their families. They offer short break care giving families a much needed rest in an environment that’s comforting and familiar, a home from home. As well as providing community support in families homes not only in the Newport area but across Wales.’

‘The housing market is very busy at present . It made sense to donate from the one thing we pride ourselves on, selling homes!

By donating £50 from the sales fee of each house to Hafan, our customers know that part of their home buying or selling journey will be helping to support a local cause and one that will benefit people in the area in which they live.

We began the campaign in November and I’m pleased to say we have already donated over £1,000.

We are a really close knit team of 60 across our business sites and are keen to raise as much as we can. We held a Christmas Jumper Day in December and are hoping to organise a big walk event in the early Spring. It will be a great opportunity for us all to get together as a team for a united purpose, to give back to a special cause.’

‘I’m absolutely delighted to be working with the team at Nuttall Parker and that they’ve chosen to support Hafan through their business. Sadly, the traditional model of fundraising in workplaces has been hugely impacted by the pandemic with Covid restrictions such as social distancing making it difficult to host activity safely at present.

A donation from the sale of a product or service is a simple and effective way for a business to engage their customers whilst supporting us.

We hope that more businesses will seek out such opportunities, just like Nuttall Parker, to enable us to continue raising funds and keep Hafan’s services available for our families through this difficult time.’
