I arrive at said Midnight Sleepwalk to a sea of ladies in evening attire adorned with glow sticks and flashing lights… I thought to me self “Tortuga has nothing on this place” the atmosphere was incredible, singing, dancing and smiles as far as the eye could see.
That evening I learned more and more about the incredible work Tŷ Hafan do for children with life-limiting conditions and their families and so I decided to see what I could do… as it turns out they had another walk planned for Cardiff soon after so I decided to give my time to entertain the ladies taking part and this time I’d join them on the 8k walk… Have you ever tried walking like a drunken pirate… in pirate boots… for 8k? Well, it was exhausting but Well worth it!
I’ve taken part in 6 Sleepwalk events so far and met the most amazing people along the way, devoting their time and effort to raise the funds needed to give care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Since that 1st day a few years ago, I have continued to support their efforts and always look forward to my next adventure with Tŷ Hafan which, by strange coincidence and twist of fate, is their Pirate Themed Family Fun Day on July 4th at their Hospice in Sully, a place steeped in Pirate history… who knew?
Best wishes to you all
