Events are held all over Wales and are coordinated by our Events team. However, on event days, we rely on our volunteers for support to help make sure the day runs smoothly and on time! Volunteers can help set up the event itself, check people in at registration or even cheer on the participants.
If you are looking for one-off volunteering opportunities then event volunteering is the way to go! They are lots of fun, as well as being a great way to meet people, support a fantastic cause and get out and about!
And if you enjoyed yourself, we’d love to welcome you back at our next event. There’s always another one just around the corner so your help is always welcome.
There are several volunteer roles within the Hospice or main offices, from working with children as a playworker, helping to prepare meals in the kitchen or to offer some assistance on reception.
If you are crafty, we also have a variety of roles helping Handcrafted by Tŷ Hafan, with upcycling and making items for sale to helping the team with administration or projects.
Tŷ Hafan have a number of shops across Wales which generate thousands of pounds towards supporting children and families at the Hospice. The shops are run by paid managers and reliant on volunteers to support them with stocking shelves, helping customers, sorting donations and creating window displays. If this is something that would interest you or you are able to help with, then the Volunteer Retail Assistant is the role for you.
We have hundreds of collection boxes all over Wales which generate huge amounts of income towards supporting our children and their families at the Hospice.
The Volunteer Collection Box Agent helps to ensure that the collection boxes out and about in the community are coordinated and collected. If you are able to pop to your local shops and shopping centres nearby and help collect boxes, then this role is perfect for you.
Would you be able to use your personal and professional skills to help attract new supporters and raise awareness of Tŷ Hafan? If the answer is yes then the Ambassador role is for you.
You will be asked to attend a range of events: from accepting cheque donations to talking about why fundraising is so important. Ambassadors might also use their experiences to provide information to be used in raising awareness in the media.
This type of role is for anyone or a group of people who would like to support Tŷ Hafan by organising a one off dinner party, tea party or fundraising event, for example.
The Volunteer Retail Assistant role is a great opportunity to gain new skills and experiences, while building volunteer hours towards your DOE (Duke of Edinburgh award) or Welsh Baccalaureate. The role is available to anyone over the age of 14 and can fit around school hours.
